VISION STATEMENT AND SHORT BREAK STRATEGY

Through the Aiming High for Disabled Children (AHDC) national programme, Government announced a range of measures designed to transform services for children and young people with disabilities and their families. There are a number of different strands to the programme with the Short Breaks element coming on stream from April 2009. Through the AHDC initiative, every Local Authority and Primary Care Trust area is receiving additional resources to deliver the transformation programme which will increase and improve the range of Short Breaks services available to more families.
