About Us
The Small Steps = Big Changes parent group have money to be spent creatively between now and 2011 on inflencing services for children, young people and families affected by disability. Lots of changes have happenend since the first Parent Conference took place in November 2008 and we are excited to be organising our 3rd conference in November!
Parents organise the conferences with support of the local authority - organised by parents for parents!
Barbara Shaw, Head of Children's Services has been a regular speaker at our conferences and is totally behind service users - children young people and families shaping the futire of services!
Parents told us at the 1st conference that they would like to see improvements in these areas:
Focus groups have been set up to look at how these areas can be developed. Lots of work has been taking place and updates were given at the second Parent Conference which was held on Wednesday 13 May at Gisborough Hall.
